Episode 83 – Rainbow Connection

Flipnote the Script (Flipnote Studio 3D)
Wow…I can’t believe I made a cartoon.
Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself (like, miles ahead), but I’m actually surprised by how incredible Flipnote Studio 3D is. Previously I’ve used Colors!3D for my scribblings (and will continue to do so), so I’m always hesitant when another artsy app pops up that requires me to re-learn “how to draw” under its own rules. While Flipnote is lacking some of the bells and whistles I’ve become accustomed to, it’s still quite robust (and makes up for what it lacks in other areas).
The above is my first bit of work, and while I have a ways to go, I’m happy by how quickly I got it up and running. Pretty cool. While some consider this version of Flipnote Studio 3D as neutered (any sort of online sharing directly from the 3DS has been removed, it’s all up to the user to upload wherever they please), I figure sharing over Twitter and this site is how I would have done it anyways. So whatever. Take your rage party elsewhere.
I hope I have more to share with you in the future. Oh, and I’ll work on my lip movements in the mean time.
Episode 73 – Miiverse Jail
I forced my way onto this week’s Nintendo Fun Club Podcast, and thankfully the show’s quality remained strong as ever. Ryan, John and I discussed 3DS themes, Smash Bros., Hyrule Warriors, Castlevania, the Bayonetta 2 demo, and my two week ban from Miiverse (which is over!).

Podcast Appearance! Nintendo Free Radio Ep.44 – The Truth Bullet Club
The kind folks at Nintendo Free Radio (Donald Theriault, Destin Faroda, and Stephen Shook) had me on their show to discuss spoil the butt of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. It was a lot of fun, especially since Donald feels this entry is better than the first game, which isn’t exactly how I feel…at all.

One Ugly 3DS
So, this new NES themed 3DS…yeah. It has an appearance only a mother…scratch that.
Sigmata – Let’s Play Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus – Part Two
We arrive at Hayabusa Village, a place in even shittier shape than when we left it. Here, Ryu’s old man, Joe Hayabusa, fends off an overdressed warrior named Genshin. The walls around them are ablaze, but nothing burns stronger than Genny’s hunger for…the Demon Statue.
I like to think of this chapter as a typical Hollywood sequel. “Ryu is back…with some all new toys to play with.” Cut to our hero dismembering foes like there’s no tomorrow. “This Summer, Ryu’s gonna Haya-bust-a cap in your ass.”
Sigmata – Let’s Play Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus – Part One
Our adventure begins with a young woman asking a very old man about the whereabouts of our protagonist, Ryu Hayabusa. While blonde and bound in leather, this woman is not Rachel, the demon hunter with the water bed breasts from our previous adventure. The senior citizen is Muramasa, the item peddler from Sigma Plus. He appears clueless about Ryu’s location, but her wish to discuss the “arch fiend” catches his attention.
Things go awry with the arrival of the Black Spider Clan, literally crashing into Muramasa’s conversation. The mystery woman brandishes her handguns, and proves she is no damsel in distress. At least for a little while.
Episode 65 – Blades Will Bleed / Kitties Will Mew
The dudes at Nintendo Fun Club invited me over to their podcast, where I was also joined by Jeremy Johnson of Qoopa Klub Podcast fame! It was a lot of fun, with lots of Mario Kart 8 talk, a look back at our favourite E3 moments, and predictions (both realistic and absurd) of what to expect from Nintendo’s Digital Event.
